About
Hannah Ballinger is a visual Artist who works in ceramics. She graduated from Alfred University in 2021 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. She creates both functional and sculptural work and often merges the two. Her work carries a sense of whimsical, fluidity as if made to exist within a fantastical world. Her artwork often speaks to anthropomorphism, where the objects embody human attributes and beings with a kinesthetic capability. She creates to understand and express visions that appear in her mind’s eye. Driving her work is a curiosity to understand the material, learn and progress, and make discoveries while deep in the process.
Her functional work is designed to form a relationship with the owner that brings fulfillment. She wishes that the intricacy of her work inspires its owners to consume less and instead appreciate each object they own with more intensity. The bond humans create with inanimate objects is quite fascinating to her.
